Superb example of a British 1788 Pattern Light Cavalry Officer's Sword - Prince of Wales's Light Dragoons
You will be hard pressed to find a better example of this famous British Napoleonic regulation cavalry sword. The sword features a ribbed fishskin grip and steel hilt. The blade is crisply engraved with royal coat of arms, royal cypher, foliage and Prince of Wales's feathers for the 12th (Prince of Wales's) Regiment of (Light) Dragoons. This regiment had extensive battle honours during the Napoleonic Wars, including service at Waterloo. For more detailed information on the history of this regiment, please go to here.
