British 1822 Pattern Infantry NCO Sword

british-1822-pattern-nco-sword-3

Scarce and early British George IV (1820-1830) 1822 Pattern NCO's Sword

One of the earliest that I have come across and actually does not strictly conform to the pattern as it is lacking a folding guard - this highlights the loose adherence to this pattern in the early days. Hilt of brass, Gothic style - all original fishskin and brass twistwire to the grip. Plain blade maker/retailer marked to Hebbert and Hume of London.

Condition of the Sword

Blade with a dark age patina. Complete with original leather and brass mounted scabbard.

Specifications of the Sword

Blade length is 32.5 inches (37 inches overall).
