British 19th Century Named Cornwall Artillery Volunteers Officer’s Sword

A rare British 19th Century Named Cornwall Artillery Volunteers Officer’s Sword

This scarce British military sword was carried by an officer in the Cornwall Artillery Volunteers during the mid-latter half of the 19th Century.  It is named to a Lieutenant R. Thomas – has not been researched.  The sword is of 1821 Pattern Light Artillery regulation type.  With fishskin and copper twistwire to the grip.  Blade is plated and comprises the owner’s name to the forte, regimental designation, royal crown and cypher and scrolling foliage.

Condition of the Sword

In good overall condition with a little wear to the hilt and loss of plating towards end of the blade.

Specifications of the Sword

Blade length is 32.5 inches (38 inches overall).
