A very good example of a British Napoleonic 1796 Pattern Light Cavalry Officer’s Sword

With typical stirrup hilt and original ribbed leather grip – excellent condition. Blade is engraved with royal cypher, crown and stands of arms and maker marked to Runkel of Solingen, Germany. Runkel was a noted importer of German made sword blades for the British Army. If you can find a scabbard for this sword you will have a very fine example of a famous British military sword pattern.

Excellent hilt with all original leather to the grip and blade in fine condition

Blade length is 29 inches (35 inches overall).
