A non-regulation British Napoleonic Light Cavalry Trooper's Sword. Of a style similar to the 1788 Pattern Light Cavalry Trooper's Sword but with an unusual ribbed horn grip. The hilt has brass mounts including a plain backstrap and double langet. This style of "hussar" sword was also carried by a number of a nations during the Napoleonic Wars, including France, German states and North and Eastern European countries.
Blade is plain, double-fullered and typical of a trooper's sword from this period. It is also double-edged towards the point. Condition of the sword is good for its age - the blade has dark age patina with some light pitting and both hilt and blade are rock solid - no movement. No scabbard. Blade length is 32 inches (38 inches overall).
