A Scarce British WW1 Indian Army Cavalry Trooper’s Sword

This British WW1 Indian Army Cavalry Trooper’s Sword was issued to native Indian troops during the First World War and comprises a steel four-bar hilt and moulded wooden grip.  The hilt still retains its original black painted finish.  The large, curved blade is plain and unmarked and retains its original heavy and thck leather scabbard.  The scabbard is dated 1917 and with an “IS” – India Stores – mark.

Condition of the Sword

In good, overall condition – repair to the leather of scabbard and bend to end of blade.

Specifications of the Sword

Blade length is 32 inches (37 inches overall).
