Collection of antique British Sheffield made folding penknives - includes makers such as IXL - George Wostenholm, Fleming, Bonsa. Some with commercial company names to the grips. Sheffield made knives and cutlery were very highly regarded throughout the world during the 19th and 20th centuries and Sheffield was the pre-eminent knife making centre of the world during this time. Their knives were exported throughout the world and were particularly favoured in the United States where most hunting (bowie) type knives were produced in the workshops of Sheffield, England.
Penknives in good condition
