This type of sword was carried by English officers throughout the American Revolutionary Wars and is heavily featured in Neumann's seminal work on the swords of this period -Swords and Blades of the American Revolution. The sword has a typical steel slotted hilt, long, fluted pommel and stained green horn grip. The slightly curved blade is double-fullered and has a good age patina.
Condition of the Sword
Overall condition is excellent with only an age crack to the horn grip that is quite usual for these pieces.
Specifications of the Sword
Blade length is 24 inches (30.5 inches overall).
