A scarce and unusual late-19th Century Hadendoa Sudanese Dagger and Scabbard

This dagger is synonymous with the Hadendoa tribes of Sudan, Egypt and Eritrea who fought a number of colonial wars with the British and other European powers during the 19th Century.  The style and design of the dagger was peculiar to the Hadendoa and comprises a four pronged ribbed ebony and silver mounted hilt.  The blade is plain and curved.  Comes complete with a leather and silver mounted scabbard.  Unusual to find one of these with its original scabbard.

Condition of the Dagger

In excellent condition for its age.

Specifications of the Dagger

Blade length is 8 inches (12 inches overall).
