An original 19th Century Boy’s Sword.  The carrying of boys’ swords was particularly popular during the 19th Century and many sons of military officers carried the type of sword of their officer father.  Contemporary photographs and paintings highlight this vogue.

Brass D-Guard hilt and complete with original scabbard

This is a 19th Century Boy’s Sword with brass D-Guard hilt and leather and brass twistwire to the grip.  The blade is slightly curved and with a rounded point.  In overall worn condition – part of backstrap missing – dents to scabbard.  Blade length is 19 inches (22 inches overall).
