A good example of a British 19th Century 1827 Pattern Rifle Officer’s Sword

A British 19th Century 1827 Pattern Rifle Officer’s Sword with finely etched blade comprising a royal VR crown, Rifle Brigade’s strung bugle motif and scrolling foliage.  The hilt also has a regulation strung bugle in cartouche and the hilt retains all original fishskin covering and twistwire.  It is maker marked to “STEAMER” – this is a very unusual maker and little is known about them and they appear quite infrequently.  No scabbard.

Condition of the Sword

In good overall condition.

Blade length is 32 inches (38 inches overall).
